A Spanish journalist claims that Chelsea are considering talks with Xavi, as part of their search for a new coach.
Sunday’s trip to Seville was Xavi Hernandez’s final match in charge of FC Barcelona, and although his intention is to take a long period of rest starting next week, he could be tempted by an immediate return to the management of the team.
According to Pedro Almeida, Chelsea are considering talks with Xavi, as part of their search for a new coach. The Premier League giants announced the departure of Mauricio Pochettino earlier this week, and they could now move from a former Espanyol head coach to one formerly of FC Barcelona.
Chelsea to replace Pochettino
Although this season has not been good for FC Barcelona, Xavi still led them to La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup in the 2022-23 campaign, and his rating seems to have remained at a high level.
It remains to be seen whether Xavi will become a serious target for Chelsea. Whatever his destination, it will be interesting to see how he develops after his time at Barcelona.
