An expert has offered a version of events of what was said between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp during a heated exchange.
The incident broke out as Salah prepared to come on for Liverpool against West Ham, and spoke briefly with Klopp. The situation seemed to escalate when Salah said after the match: “If I speak, things will catch fire.” According to lip-reading expert John Cassidy, who spoke to SPORTBible, Salah told Klopp: “There’s nothing I can do about it, nothing“.
Klopp’s response was hidden from camera, and Salah then appeared to lose his cool and reportedly responded: “I’m going to do it, I’m going to get a red card, after seven years, after seven years of service, after seven years! “.
Salah in Saudi Arabia?
With Salah’s form in 2024 far from optimal after a recent muscle injury and a new era dawning at Liverpool, speculation was rife after the match over the possibility of the Egyptian’s departure soon. The Saudi Pro League has not hidden its interest in Salah, who has been the best Arab footballer in the world for around ten years and could become one of the faces of the competition.
The Athletic reports that Liverpool plan for Salah to be part of their squad next season. He has not reportedly expressed a desire to leave and the Reds are not trying to transfer him. The Saudi Pro League is pursuing Salah less aggressively than in 2023 and could wait until 2025, when he could be free.
