Manchester United slowed down Liverpool during the Premier League weekend clash at Old Trafford this Sunday (2-2).

Engaged with Arsenal and Manchester City in an intense fight for the title, Liverpool (2nd) was going to challenge Manchester United (6th) at Old Trafford as part of the 32nd day of the Premier League for a real clash between two great rivals of the Kingdom.

A shock which also got off to a flying start. In the second minute, following a ball recovered high, Bruno Fernandes alerted Alejandro Garnacho. The latter played Caoimhin Kelleher from the right and scored in the empty cage. The referee nevertheless returned to an initial offside position.

Manchester United reacted

The opening score would ultimately be the prerogative of Liverpool. On a corner hit by Szoboszlai, right side, Nunez extended with his head. Lonely, Diaz struck victoriously with his right foot at the far post. 1-0, in the 23rd minute, the score at rest for a match then outrageously dominated by the visitors.

But the match would take a turn after returning from the locker room, when Bruno Fernandes capitalized on a huge defensive error from the Reds to equalize. Then, 20 minutes from the end, a magnificent goal from the young Red Devils midfielder Mainoo with a nice curl from the right allowed the locals to lead. But in an incredible final twist, Salah equalized from the penalty spot 5 minutes from time. 2-2, final score in a crazy match. In the standings, this draw result does not allow Liverpool to get back ahead of Arsenal.
