French international striker Christopher Nkunku risks giving up on this summer's European Championship.
After having already missed the World Cup in Qatar, Christopher Nkunku has a good chance of skipping the Euro in Germany. The former Parisian continues to have physical problems and his club coach does not even know when he will be operational.
Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of the Blues, spoke this Wednesday about his Frenchie. His words were not very encouraging. “He had a problem, we didn't know it, we realized it after the League Cup final, he began by confiding. At the moment we do not know when it will be possible for him to train with the team. At the moment he is not training with us.”
Pochettino worries about Nkunku
“I have no information regarding a setback. He's recovering and it's taking longer than expected. I hope he can be involved quickly, as quickly as possible”added the Argentinian coach.
Last February, Pochettino mentioned at the end of February a possible period of unavailability of “three or four weeks”, without being able to be more precise.
Arriving at Chelsea last summer, Nkunku only played 10 matches with the Londoners, including only two as a starter. A disastrous campaign that is not about to get better.
