The Lombard club had the possibility of signing the Argentine world champion, but decided against it.
AC Milan rejected the possibility of signing Enzo Fernandez for 12 million euros only 18 months ago, we learn from the transalpine press.
Milan missed the bargain
Fernandez left Benfica for Chelsea a year ago for a fee of 121 million euros. However, a few months before, in April 2022, the Argentinian was offered to Milan for 12 million euros, but the Lombard management considered the price too high, according to TMW. Instead, he remained at Benfica before being transferred for ten times this season to the Premier League.
Fernandez (23) has since been world champion with the Albiceleste. His performance with the Blues, however, fell short of expectations. It is one of the overly expensive investments made by Todd Boehly and which did not have the expected result.
