While OGC Nice was in pole position for the Florian Thauvin file, Montpellier would still be on the case.
Clearly, Florian Thauvin has no shortage of suitors. In difficulty at Udinese, where he has lost playing time in recent weeks, the 2018 world champion wants to return to France to revive himself. And several Ligue 1 clubs are interested in him.
On Saturday, Foot Mercato and RMC indicated that OGC Nice was in pole position to recover the former OM and Tigres player. The Aiglons are particularly looking for an attacking midfielder to compensate for the departure of Jérémie Boga to the CAN, and Thauvin would have an interesting profile for the Riviera club.
Montpellier also in the running for Thauvin
However, it was specified that another Ligue 1 team was in the running for “FloTov”. In recent days, the Lorient, Rennes, Lyon and Montpellier tracks have been mentioned, and it would be the MHSC which would be on the spot, according to the Italian transfer window specialist Nicolo Schira.

The Hérault club will also lose several elements in the month of January, with five players leaving to compete in the African Cup of Nations, to which must be added Mousa Tamari, who will take part in the Asian Cup with Jordan.
The sporting challenge seems more interesting in Nice, to play for the top of the table, but Thauvin could be sensitive to other elements, such as contact with his future coach, or the possibility of having more significant playing time.
