Very little used at Chelsea, French defender Benoit Badiashile could bounce back with another major European club.

The AC Milan recruitment unit has contacted its Chelsea counterparts for a daring winter operation aimed at recruiting a player from the Blues defense, Benoît Badiashile.

Badiashile to Italy?

It is common knowledge that Milan management is looking for new blood in defense for the second half of the season. Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino have been sidelined for a long time and Simon Kjær still remains unavailable. Malick Thiaw also injured his hamstring yesterday against Dortmund.

Many defenders are expected to join Lombardy. Today, a new name is added to this list. According to Marco Conterio of TuttomercatoWeb, the Rossoneri have set their sights on the former Monegasque, who is out of favor at Chelsea, and the first contacts have been made.

The French international has had a frustrating season, due to a hamstring problem dating back to May. Now back in great shape and undoubtedly in search of playing time, he would certainly not look unfavorably on an experience in another major European club.

It is not certain that Chelsea would be open to such an operation, even if relations between the two clubs remain excellent, with the respective transfers of Olivier Giroud, Fikayo Tomori, Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
