At the end of the first day of La Liga, Atlético Madrid received Granada on Monday. Ambitious this season, the Colchoneros flew over the debates in the first half. Dominating, the flock of Diego Simeone logically opened the scoring a few seconds before the break. Found at the penalty spot by a center from César Azpilicueta badly repelled by Vallejo, Alvaro Morata left Ferreira no chance (1-0, 45 + 4th). On the action that followed, the former Juventus Turin thought he was breaking with his head but he was finally flagged for offside.

Abused and unable to shoot even once in the first act, the visitors raised their heads as soon as they returned from the locker room. Their self-sacrifice paid off and the young Samu Omorodion (19) tied the two teams for his first match with the A (1-1, 62nd). A short-lived bright spot for Granada who were struck by lightning five minutes later. The latter came from the overpowered strike of Memphis Depay who came to lodge in the right corner of Ferreira (2-1, 67th). Asphyxiating their opponents until the end, Antoine Griezmann’s teammates easily won the victory and completed their success with a third goal signed Marcos Llorente (3-1, 90 + 8th). They thus take the wheel of their Madrid neighbor, Real, starting their season by gleaning the three points in a deserved way.
