Nine years after his arrival in England, Riyad Mahrez has also chosen the Saudi track. The Algerian has just signed with Al-Ahli.
It had been in Saudi pipelines for a few weeks. The arrival of Riyad Mahrez in the great Gulf state was made official on Friday.
The 32-year-old Algerian international leaves Manchester City for Al-Ahli, with whom he signed a four-year contract. The move is set to net the English champions €30m, according to transfermarkt.com.

Born in Sarcelles, in the Paris region, Riyad Mahrez was spotted in Le Havre (2011-2014) before wearing the Leicester jersey (2014-2018) and participating in the feat of the Foxes, champions of England in 2016.
With Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens, Fennec has enriched its CV with four new national crowns (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023) and a Champions League (2023).
Riyad Mahrez will be team-mates at Al-Ahli with Premier League opponents: goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (Chelsea) and center forward Roberto Firmino (Liverpool).
