After last week’s chaotic 2-1 win over 9-man Dynamo Kiev at the Roudourou, Guingamp have no key injuries as they travel for the second leg. Jocelyn Gourvennec put the weekend’s defeat at home to Montpellier down to tiredness, but stressed that his team has now recovered and is in good shape for the match in Kiev.
The squad: Lössl, Samassa, Guichard – Jacobsen, Baca, Angoua, Kerbrat, Sorbon, Dos Santos, Lévêque – Pied, Diallo, Mathis, Cardy, Sankharé, Yatabaré, Marveaux, Giresse – Coco, Beauvue, Mandanne.
Dynamo Kiev have four men out, through suspension (Yarmolenko, Belhanda, Sydorchuk) and injury (Makarenko, who also missed the first leg). Dieumerci Mbokani may be back after recovering from a hip injury sustained on AFCON duty with DR Congo, but whether he is fit enough to start remains unclear. Jeremain Lens, who went off injured just minutes into the first match, is another doubt.
Kiev are claiming boldly that “Guingamp always lose in front of large audience this season“, but given that the three matches cited as evidence are the Trophee des Champions against PSG, and league matches against OL and OM, they do seem to be reaching a little with that. Guingamp have four wins and two draws out of twelve away games in the league, albeit only one point from top half opposition (Bordeaux), and a draw (Minsk) and a win (PAOK) away in the group stage.
After the Roudourou was sold out for the first leg, it looks like there will be no away presence at the Olympic Stadium, with the club not organising an official trip, and advising their fans against travelling independently.
