FFW Pod – Trollcams and Real Talk
This week there’s a full complement at FFW towers as Kris is joined by Jez, Phil and Rich, which involves a level of organisation equivalent to herding cats with a stick and/or the OL defence under pressure. The team rounds up Saint-Etienne 2 – 2 Marseille, Monaco’s big win at Angers, PSG’s upcoming match against Real Madrid, and OL’s troubles against Rennes. Also, questions, Lacazette, the Europa League, Toulouse’s Trollcam and Nantes’ brilliant response to recent heavy-handed policing.

Admin – there’s been action in both cup competitions which we haven’t been able to get to in the pod, so in case you are not aware, the Coupe de la Ligue final will be on 31 March and will see PSG and Monaco face off, after they beat Rennes and Montpellier respectively in the semi-finals.
Also, the Coupe de France saw a couple of upsets, as third-tier Les Herbiers blew Ligue 2 Auxerre away 3-0 (away), and Ligue 2 Lens rather less surprisingly beat troubled Troyes 1-0. We also have another National side through as Chambly reach the quarter-finals for the first time in their history – sadly at the expense of fourth-tier petit poucet US Granville. But we’re sure they will be back next year.
The quarter finals will be on 27 and 28 February, and feature decent chances for both the third-tier sides, as well as a classique – just three days after PSG host OM in the league :
Les Herbiers (3) v RC Lens (2)
Chambly (3) v Strasbourg (1)
SM Caen (1) v OL (1)
PSG (1) v OM (1)
