Let’s look at how the team did in Week 5.
It wasn’t pretty – especially for Andrew and Jeremy, whose “both teams to score” picks both ended 0-0 and whose scoring tips – Balotelli and Rolan – didn’t play and received a red card respectively. Phil and Rich saved face for the team, Phil predicting that both Toulouse and Guingamp would score, and Rich correctly tipping Braithwaite to be one of those scorers.
BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
Jeremy has gone for Lille v Toulouse here. Toulouse have begun the season well, scoring freely too. The same cannot be said for Lille but with home advantage and backs against the wall, les Dogues should show at least a little bite.
Best price: 11/10
Philippa has chosen Nice v Monaco in the Riviera derby and the headline match of this midweek. Nice are playing some lovely football, especially at home, while Monaco are the league’s top scorers. The chances of both teams scoring – and hopefully giving great spectacle in general – have to be high.
Best price: 4/5
Andrew’s pick is Angers v Caen. After a goalless start Angers have won their last two matches, scoring four in the process. They’ll have been licking their chops seeing the Caen defence concede six against PSG at the weekend. As for Caen, they are pointless and goalless in their two away matches thus far. This has to change sometime though, right?
Best price: 11/10
Rich has gone for Metz v Bordeaux. Metz have won their two home matches to date and, after a poor start, their defence has kept three straight clean sheets. But Bordeaux have an impressive forward line and will hope to repeat their last away trip – a 3-1 win at Lyon.
Best price: 5/6
Philippa has gone for Bastia’s Enzo Crivelli. He is yet to score in front of the Furiani crowd this season, but visiting Nancy’s defence has looked shaky so far and Crivelli will relish the chance to bully them.
Best price: 3/1
With three goals in his last two matches, Thomas Lemar has hit a rich vein of form and Rich sees the youngster continue his run at Nice. If he scores, we’ll hope for something as spectacular as his second against Rennes at the weekend.
Best price: 9/2
Jeremy has gone for PSG’s Lucas Moura. With three goals in five games he has begun the season well, and was on the scoresheet against Caen at the weekend. With PSG welcoming Dijon, plenty more goalscoring chances are likely.
Best price: 6/5
Finally, Andrew has tipped Saint-Etienne’s Robert Beric. The striker, coming back from a long-term injury, is looking like he could become the reliable scorer that les Verts so badly need, and he’ll fancy his chances when visiting Nantes, who are languishing in 18th place.
Best price: 11/4
