Former Manchester City Playmaker On the Move Again
Former Manchester City midfielder Marcos “Rony” Lopes should be on the move this winter. Earlier in the week, his agent Mikkel Beck revealed to Foot Mercato that his client was considering a six-month loan spell away from Monaco in order to find more playing time.
When asked about the possibility of moving to Lille the former LOSC player said: “It is true I have made contact with Lille and it could be an interesting solution as Rony already knows the club.”
However, he made clear that nothing had been signed. Monaco spent around €10 million to bring in the Portuguese playmaker this summer, but after only featuring twice for ASM, a loan move would suit all parties.
It seems that Lille are not the only club showing interest in the 20-year-old, with both Saint-Etienne and Olympique Lyonnais reported to be interested says L’Equipe.
Les Verts are still in the Europa League, which could provide valuable experience to the youngster, but with the places at the top of Ligue 1 extremely tight, don’t expect Monaco to be overly keen in strengthening one of their rivals.
Although Lille are still in the running, their earlier season form and the fact that Lopes knows the city and the club should make them slight favourites to land the Portugal under-21 international.
ANOTHER DEMBELE TO SPURS
Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Moussa Dembele could be on the move this winter. The 19-year-old Frenchman has scored nine goals in 22 games for Fulham FC and is apparently a target for Tottenham Hotspur says Sky Sports.
Linked with a move to Manchester United in the past, the youth striker’s contract is up in the summer and could make the move across London to Spurs.
With Mauricio Pochettino’s team linked with both Michy Batshuayi and Wissam Ben Yedder in January, it’s clear they are targeting a forward, which makes you wonder just how much playing time the teenage forward would find at White Hart Lane.
REIMS LINKED WITH YOUNG CABOT
Sitting 17th in Ligue 1, Stade de Reims are in the market for a goal scorer this winter.
According to L’Equipe, the Champagne club are interested in Troyes forward Jimmy Cabot, with the 21-year-old’s contract up in the summer and ESTAC all but relegated this season, there could be a deal to be done this winter.
Although his record doesn’t stand out and offer great hope to the Reims fans, in 12 games he has scored just once, but there is more potential in playing someone like Cabot than a forward like Gaetan Charbonnier – 1 goal in 6 games.
Injury to Grejohn Kyei leaves him out until the new year, Reims need all the help they can get.
