ESPN confirm LIVE Ligue 1 on their TV Schedule

July 14, 2012 2:18 pm

After we exclusively revealed that ESPN would be showing Ligue 1 on their UK channel for the new season we had been asked a few times if there was any update on the situation. No official word had come from the channel and no annoucement by anyone else, the trail had gone cold. Until today.

On browsing the ESPN schedule for August we can now confirm that on Friday the 10th of August the opening game of the season between Montpellier and Toulouse will be shown LIVE on ESPN.

Then on the Saturday there are two games scheduled. It doesn’t say LIVE but the second game should be one of the 21:00 CET kick-offs and the earlier game a repeat of the Friday game.

At this time it doesn’t look like the season opener “Trophee des Champions” will be shown on ESPN but PSG v DC United will be shown at 18:45 on Sunday the 29th of July. Great news to start the season, we hope that everyone stays tuned to FFW as the chance to watch Ligue 1 in the UK finally returns to our screens.

The trophée des Champions will be on in England via TV5 this coming Saturday (28/07), so a good chance to brush up on the GCSE French!
